Clans
There are any number of clans operating in Ivalice. Some famous, some notorious, some just scraping by. Clans provide a key service for many, as a method of employment by those who live by the sword. They operate under the law and with the watchful gaze of a Judge to ensure that all is kept orderly and legal. Signing with a clan permits you to fight within the boundaries of legality, providing legitimacy for violent actions which might otherwise land you in a dungeon, or worse. Individuals signed with a clan have the rights to combat in whatever areas their talents lie. Freelancers may purchase licenses for the use of weapons and specialized skills, but those can be pricy and many find a clan membership to be a more economical way to earn a living.
Each clan's goals and work available varies. Some choose to focus only on hunts. Others accept bounties. Still others might accept any job up for grab at the local tavern and compete to beat others there for the finish. Completed hunts and tasks are generally well-compensated with gil and gear, sometimes with a fresh dash of fame and glory. Clans also have the ability to participate in the territory auctions of Jylland. Control of a territory results in better pay, better recruitment, better rewards... plus a small discount on chocobo rentals. Very small. Ok, so with the discount, it's still a ripoff to rent chocobos.
Players are welcome to create their own Clan to operate as a group, or join existing ones in the game:
Clan Centurio - This clan is headquartered in Rabanastre and open to any eager recruits who show a modicum of talent. Generally best if your character knows which end of a sword is the functional one. It is headed up by the Moogle, Montblanc.
Members: Mjrn
Clan Gully - This clan is operating out of Jylland, headed up by Cid. Who seems to have gone missing. Their general operations involve taking on any available work. Players interested in joining Clan Gully can still swear their fealty before the clan's Judge.
Members: Adelle, Penelo, Siegfried (Vayne), Yuffie
Clan Lionel - This clan is based in Rabanastre, but is known to travel to other parts of Ivalice for work. Most jobs revolve around monster hunting and running errands for now, though the clan's role is likely to evolve as the game's plot progresses. Headed by Ramza Beoulve.
Members: Ramza Beoulve
Nsu Clan - Mostly nomadic, this clan boasts no particular headquarters. It is headed by Paddra Nsu-Yeul.
Members: Yeul
There is also a famous clan known as, Prima Donna which is primarily a musical group. They are known from Loar to Valendia, and also happen to be the third ranked Clan in Jylland. They are not accepting new members, though everyone and anyone is welcome to enjoy their amazing style, their fabulous music and in general become devotees of these ladies.
Players interested in formally signing with a clan, or creating one of their own, should comment here to be added to their rosters. There is no need for people who are fans of the glorious Prima Donna. We all adore them.
